Norah Gaughan Volume 4 has arrived at The Yarn and Fiber Company!

Hello Everyone!

New at The Yarn and Fiber Company is the latest release of the Norah Gaughan Volume 4 - YEAH!!!! Another spectacular collection of gorgeous sweaters from Norah Gaughan and the Berroco design team.

We also have the yarn to support the patterns which includes a new cotton line from Berroco called Pure Pima Cotton, Seduce and new Seduce Colors yarn.

Pure Pima Cotton is a wonderful cotton that knits to 5.5 sts per inch on a US#6, 115 yards per skein and retails for $6 per skein - what a great price for another great yarn from Berroco!

Seduce yarn is a gorgeous blend of 47% Rayon, 25% Linen, 17% Silk, 11% Nylon and perfect for knitting summer wear that is cool and light to wear.

Berroco has also introduced Seduce Colors which has all of the incomparable drape and texture of silken Seduce but comes in a range of 5 shimmering summer tinged hues.

New for January 2009 - Serendipitous Ewe

We are extremely excited by the addition of Serendipitous Ewe Hand Dyed Sock yarn to our growing selection of hand dye artists. We are now offering two different yarns, a pure merino (Fate Fingering), and a merino bamboo mix (Lucky Sock) which has a generous 460 yards of delicious hand dyed sock yarn. We are carrying three color lines, baby shades (Little Ewe), semi-solid, and self striping colorways.

We also have all the new Madeline Tosh Sock Yarn colorways, as always every year the new colors expand on an already spectacular range of exciting colors, plus she has added some more subtle colors expanding the versatility of an already fantastic range.

New also is Blue Heron's new Rayon Metalic. Rayon Metallic Yarn is 100% rayon hand dyed yarn with a fine metallic thread twisted into the yarn. This yarn is perfect for knitters, crocheters and weavers and is available in 550 yard DK weight 8 oz hanks.

Finally, we now have all the ArtFelt (Schoppel Wolle) colors, in both pencil and standard rovings, we have done a little reorganization at the shop to give this (and our spinning supplies) their own place of pride in the shop. We are planning to have both needle and wet felting classes this year with local artists from the US and Canada.

Happy New Year

A very happy new year to everyone. Another year over, resolutions to keep (or break) and a great selectio of new yarns have arrived at The Yarn and Fiber Company for the new year, we will try to get them all up online this week.

We have added a lot of new colors to our Artfelt (needle and wet felting) roving selection.

A lot of new sock yarn colors from Sereknity, and we are excited to have added new yarns from Blue Heron, including their new Rayon Metallic.

Ice, More Ice, and Warm Knitting!

The Yarn and Fiber Company is back online! Yeah! Sorry for the disruption in service, but it couldn't be helped. Slowly Southern NH is thawing from a recent ice storm that proved to be quite crippling to everyday life - and also reminds us of the need for warm sweaters. I captured some beautiful photos of the ice for anyone not in the area. I have to say though, I love New England and all it brings... and I was awed with the ice sculptures nature provided on Friday morning!
