For example, please meet the Waffle Stitch Hat - this hat is easily made in a few hours with less than one skein of Malabrigo Rasta using a US 10 needle ... yes, this is densely knit which adds comfort and warmth to this fun and creative hat!

Also, the Herringbone Neckwarmer is an instantaneous project - less than a few hours and requiring only one skein of the Malabrigo Rasta, this neck warmer is soft and works up fast on US 19 needles.

Newly Arrived - Malabrigo Yarns have Arrived and New England Farms Freshly Scoured Wools!

A new product is now being offered at The Yarn and Fiber Company.   Washed Fleece from Local New England farms!    Now available in 8 oz quantities, freshly sheared and scoured fleece from a variety of farm animals including alpaca and wool. 

Many different types of wool is available from our local farms including Border Leicester, Lincoln, Romney, Corriedale, Wensleydale, Cormo and a variety of crossbred mixes.   As the fleeces are scoured, they will be listed for sale so check back often as these listing will be updated regularly.   We only offer the finest fleeces.    These fleeces are yummy!

   

Just arrived, Malabrigo Sock and Merino Worsted weight yarns!  Malabrigo Merino Worsted is a luscious worsted weight and incredibly soft Merino wool with all the subtle variations in color and texture only hand dyed yarns have and all the sensuality of merino wool.    Each 100 gram skein has 210 yards (192 meters) and knits to 18.0 sts = 4 inches on a US 7 - 9 or 4.5 - 5.5mm.    Be sure to get enough yarn to complete your project since each bag is a different dye lot, and skeins may vary from bag to bag.

Malabrigo Sock Yarn is a beautiful hand-dyed 100% Superwash Merino that works up beautifully as socks, shawls, and other garments and accessories requiring a fingering weight yarn.   Each skein makes a pair of socks and comes in 440 yard, 100 gram skeins.   Each skein is hand-dyed and the colors are simply gorgeous!

New project classes are forming!  There is lots to learn and we have added many fun and special project and technique classes to our schedule.   Visit our Events Schedule to see the Specialty Project Classes and if you want to join in one of our ongoing Knit and Crochet classes, visit our Class Schedule on the website or stop by for a print-out!   Here are a few starting within the next few weeks:

Midnight Ruffle Lace Shawl Class - A beginners lace class that will take you start to finish on learning to make a beautiful lace shawl.   No lace experience necessary; we will work through cast-on, special stitches for lace-making, chart reading, lace bind-offs, and much more.  We will meet on Tuesday evenings from 5:30-7:30.  Class starts May 5 - call now to reserve your seat!

Felted Flowers - An Intro to Needle Felting and Knit/Crochet Felted Flower Techniques - Class will meet on May 6 from 10:00 to 2:00 - you will go home with two flowers - one needle felted and one knit and felted in the washing machine.   This is a fun, fun class

L'Enveloppe by Sally Mellville is a new class and will meet on Wednesdays, May 6, June 3, June 10 from 6 - 8 pm.   In this class you will learn to make a fun garment that is worn on the shoulders.  This garment is very becoming to women of all sizes and shapes and is lots of fun to make!  Join us!

Felted Clogs Class will meet on May 13 and May 27 - in this class you will learn how make the adorable felted clog slippers - and we will felt them in the washing machine on site if you would like!   The Felted Clogs can be knit in traditional colors or you can go wild with color and use self striping or novelty add ins for the funkiest pair!

Intro to Needle Felting class will focus on complete instruction on how to create free form needle felted gnomes, sheep, owls, etc.   We will be working from the Going Gnome kits in our store of your choice and have a day of fun creativity!   Class meets May 20 from 10 - 2.

Learn Entrelac - it looks scary, but isn't!  Come learn how to take the mystery out of making your own entrelac cowl - it isn't woven, it just looks that way!   You will learn lots of tips and tricks, including how to knit backwards to save time on your project!   Fun for all!   Class meets May 27 and June 3 from 1 - 3.

Announcing new project classes on Wednesdays!  To kick things off, we will be making Felted Clogs.   These adorable felted clogs are beautiful when made in solids or using self striping yarns.  The pattern we will be using covers Women's and Men's clogs.   Class will meet on April 1 and April 15 from 10-12 and there is a $50 class fee.   You can come by the store or call and sign up over the telephone (603) 505-4432.   We are suggesting using Plymouth Gina, Plymouth Mushishi, Cascade 220, or Plymouth Galway yarn.    Pattern, needles and yarns are all available in the shop.   Call to reserve your seat and let's have some fun!
