Made with Peruvia Quick and novelty yarns (we used Acacia Caterpillar Eyelash Tuft, Berroco Tutu and Plume, and Cascade Lapin).

February 27th Storm and Power Outage

Due to the storm that occurred Friday night much of Southern New Hampshire is without Power, including us. This means the main website, email and telephones are out of operation. The store is still open however. We will hopefully have full service restored in the next couple of days so please try back later.

Latest from PSNH (our Power company) is that service will be restored in an hour or so (Saturday afternoon by 4:00pm EST). So we will be keeping our fingers crossed.

Update - Power restored, normal service has resumed. We will however be down for about 20 minutes Sunday morning for server maintenance between 7:00 and 8:00 am EST.

Ivy Brambles Romantica Merino Lace - this beautifully soft, hand-dyed superwash yarn is 1000 yards of wonderfully soft merino lace weight yarn per 4 oz skein. Nancy's Warm and Fuzzy Mitten Kit feature mittens that are fun, fuzzy and very warm. These great mittens are easy to knit and fabulous to wear, knit with two strands of worsted weight yarn, the fuzzy effect created by using one strand of mohair yarn together with a regular wool yarn.

The Super Bulky Mittens Kit features a mitten project that is super fast and easy. These mittens are great for either a man or woman, knit in super bulky yarn they require just 66 yards of any suitable 2 – 3 sts per inch yarn.

How about the new Pepita Christmas Stocking which takes four colors of worsted weight yarn? This stocking is worked from the top down, with an easy lace cuff, stranded colorwork leg and foot, and an "afterthought" heel. We have kit this lovely stocking with appropriate colors of Cascade 220.

A lovely beret is always comfortable with any outfit and knits up fast and easy using the Antenor Beret Project kit. This lovely design from Alison Green Will, the pattern is written in two sizes, and a floppy and a regular version – so, four possibilities total (small/regular, small/floppy, large/regular and large/floppy). The hat is made by knitting the cable band lengthwise, then picking up stitches and knitting the hat body in the round. The beret requires approximately 160 yds / 143 m for regular style, or 200 yds / 183 m for floppy style, light worsted weight yarn. We have kit this design using 1 Skein of the Ivy Brambles Superwash Worsted Yarn....another, winning pattern that works well in any colorway.

A beautiful and fast scarf is the gorgeous Prism Drop Stitch Scarf Kit. One skein of Prisms hand-dyed Stuff yarn creates an array of color and texture in any pattern. This kit comes with a free pattern from Ivy Brambles with an easy drop stitch or you can simply work this yarn in a garter stitch - the yarn does all the work to make any simple and quick pattern easily a work of art. And for addition artistic flutter, tie on some Prism Galaxy ribbon. This is great in any color and works up really fast!

A new favorite, the Water Scarf and Mitts Project Kit. Only two skeins of Ivy Brambles Superwash Worsted yarn makes the lovely scarf and mitts set! Each is worked lengthwise so adjustments are easily made and you only need to knit to the width you like!

Need a quick sweater! The Penny Straker Becky Pullover Kit is for you! This classic raglan sweater easily becomes the essential sweater that everyone pulls on for a cold day. We have kit this for you using Eco Wool and Eco Wool Plus making this an affordable and fast project that everyone likes. All the color look great and the pattern is written for a 32 - 50 finished chest size. Three to four skeins is all it takes!

Nothing is faster than a simply garter stitch design - here is one you are sure to love. The Penny Straker Andy in Child's or Adult sizes. Andy is a beginners delight worked on #7 needles in Garter Stitch. With an easy-to-knit drop shoulder and a comfortable shape, Andy is appropriate for a multitude of yarns and tweeds, boucles and cottons, to wool blends, handspuns and colorful variegated yarns all lend themselves to this design. The adult pattern runs sizes 32-44 and the childs pattern runs sizes 2-12. Have you seen the Bonnie Maresh Fused Glass Buttons? Simply beautiful and very nicely priced, these buttons add beauty to any project.

These wonderful buttons are hand made by Bonnie Maresh in Cape Cod Massachusetts, sold here individually each button is a unique work of art.

Buttons are sizes small (approx 1/2 inch), medium (approx 5/8 to 3/4 inch), large (approx 3/4 to 7/8 inch), and extra large (mostly around 1 1/4 inches).

Also hot off the press, a new batch of Penny Straker Designs patterns and project kits! Knitter-friendly patterns, with clean graphics, including illustrations of techniques, these patterns are written in a straightforward style. They take the knitter one step at a time through each section of a garment and are complete and accurate.

We have the Penny Straker trunk show in house for you to see and we will take pictures for our blog for those of you who can't make it to the shop very soon.

Modular Knitting Class and Great American Afghan Project Kits

Hello Everyone!

As some of you know, (but many don't :), we have Ginger Burns coming to the shop for a Design Your Own Modular Knit Garment class on November 7th and December 5th, from 10-4. The first part of this workshop will teach us Modular Knitting. In this class, we will learn to modular knit making mitered squares and rectangles. During the second part of this class, we will use our newly acquired knowledge and apply the mitered techiniques - with Gingers guidance and support - to custom design a garment. Ginger will focus on the custom design process and fit to create garments that dazzle. This should be a great learning experience for all levels of knitters! Class fee for this class is $80.00 and there is still room to join us! Call us at 603-505-4432 to reserve your seat in this class!

Ginger will also have her garments on display on Friday evening, November 6 for a trunk show... rumor has it some of her garments will be for sale... oh la la! Come and see for your yourself the amazing things you can do with modular knitting!

We have just posted the The Great American Afghan series kits in Cascade colors in both 220 and Superwash - including Great American Aran Afghan, Great American Afghan and the Great North American Afghan books.
